Default Diabetes During Pregnancy

Diabetes can pose a serious problem for a pregnant woman. The risks could vary from premature labour to urinary tract infection, elevated blood pressure to possibility of delivery by caesarean section. The risks to the baby can be that he is extraordinarily large and fat leading to a difficult birthing, increased risk of congenital abnormality, low blood sugar at birth or prolonged jaundice.

When pregnant, those with Diabetes Mellitus or those with Gestational Diabetes, must pay more attention to a quality and a balanced diet. Light exercise & yoga can be beneficial.

It is risky getting diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Aside from the baby getting fat, the baby may potentially become obese as a child and a type-2 diabetic later in life.

When I was pregnant with my daughter 18 years ago, I went to agroup. They took family history and did comeplete blood and urine and cell tests.
My main doctor asked me if diabeets ran in teh family and if i ahd ever been Dxd I told him was I wasdxd borderline when I was little,a dn that it runs in teh family very badly. So they did a GTT and they dais I am showing signs of gestational and they put me on a great diet. Of course being married ot my ex I rarely ate, though he did!
Anyway they agev me a handbook on it. Lucky for me they gave me insulin shots every checkup alongw ith B vitamin with minerals.
I think a doctor wodl be remiss if he didnt and it was suspected or confirmed.

When I was pregnant for my daughter. I was diagnosed with having the diabetes during pregnancy. Thankfully it went away after I gave birth and so far my daughter who is eight shows no signs of having diabetes. But because I had the condition while I was pregnant with her, she is monitored for the condition.
