Default Sugar-Free/Diabetic Packaged Foods

I've seen a lot of them in various stores and most are quite pricey. Do you have any recommendations about which are worth taking a chance on?

just be careful and check the label - often the sodium content is HUGE on them since they take out the sugar and it's worse for you in the long run, especially if you're prone to high blood pressure!

Another thing that I had to get through to my grandmother is that sugar free does not mean fat or calorie free. She would buy these cookies for instance and sit and eat half a bag!

Default Sugar Free is a fooler

I have been reading these posts and many of you still dont seem to understand that Sugar free is a fooler. Carbohydrates come in a variety fo forms. Many so called " sugar free" foods have more carbohydrate that tradisiotnal foods.
they also do not solve a sweet craving. If anything many diabetics seem to think because its sugar free they can eat all they want and that and thats not the case. Youc ant eat all you want or even should consider it. Hidden carbohydrates, hidden fillers, and sugar alcohols that so many tout as sugar free impact the same.

A challenge ot you.. take two items and side by side, but they ahve to be the same items, like sugar free oreos and configure the portion for portion. you will notice that there is a big difference, If you had a cookie that had 15 grams of carbohydrate( Pepperidege Farm jumbo chesapeak or sausalito) and it was the size of a tea cup versus three little sugar wafers( vorrtman sugar free wafers) that has the same carbohydrate count which would you choose?

you really have to read the labels closely - and it's the fault of the companies who set out to decieve the customers from the start by putting such labels as Sugar Free on the front without giving out the entire details... like doubling the sodium to keep it going!
