Default Calcium

That 24/24 from teh milk board is a godo way for women and men to remember to get their calcium. After much clicnical study esults they did find a high correlation between high calcium uptajke and weightloss- or fat loss.

There is a differecne between weight loss and fat loss. Weight loss is also considerd water and lean tissue as well as bone loss , while fat loss is just indicative of fat.

anyway those who imbibed more clacium did loose more fat, even when using regular fat cheese, milk and butter versus those who used loa fat varaieties. Low fat varaieties caused a mineral depletion in teh joints.

so consider this.. choose milk, cheese or other high calcium foods at least once a day. When counting carbs, count milk -8-12 0oiunce serving as the same as 1 slice of bread.

hubby and I startedeating low carb high fiber ice cream at least three times a week for our exra calcium.

Good advice here, thanks! This one surprised me that something like calcium intake could actually have anything to do with weight loss... interesting reading.

I would love to know the mechanism. Is it milk/calcium per se or that these food replace others in the diet that are more unhealthy?

I use a fair amount of dairy but don't make a big focus out of it. My family has not ostereoporosis so I am not much at risk from that.

Is there any difference between getting calcium in a supplement and
getting it naturally in the foods we eat?

Default no real difference

There really isnt any difference in tehcalcium in tablet verus calcium in foods.

Bt ther are enough differences to make you choose which you want or if you want to cmbine foods.

the mechanisim is simple: Calcium neds a certain amount of fats to be used in order to be assimilated into te bone. Wiothout a small amount of water soluable fats the calcium woudl not be enveloped and absorbed into teh blood stream in micrometers asnd then brought to the bones.

IN using high calcium as a diet supplement and consideration, you aer using teh fats in your system to breakdown, enevelope and flush out after delivery, basically.

Calclium in foods rae more easily broken down and utilized versus taking a hard compacted tablet. BUT..........

becaus ethe caplet, pill are so highly concentrated its a continued release doseage.

another point about calcium is it makes you feel full. Calcium when combined with fiber is a sation tool. So you have a feeling of satisfaction.. like in ice cream, when you indulge, or chcolate milk, or even a hunk of cheese.
They are solving a craving. and providing your body witha tool to maintain bone health- prevent osteoporosis and maintaining afat burning level.

Now imagine combining: Calcium: doctor sayd you ahve to have ice cream with extra fiber( sprinkle on two teaspoons of fibersure) to your low carb ice cream, have your chcolate syrup or cocoa syrup for the iron copper and happy mood chemicals, a banana for the potassium, whipped cream for flavor and fun, and you ahve a ealthy dessert!

Thank you for the in-depth answer. I really need to be more mindful of things like my calcium intake.
