Hi everyone.
I've been a type 1 diabetic since 1981. I've been on an insulin pump since 2000.
I'm amazed at how much has changed in how diabetes is treated since I became one that long ago week.
I had thought I had the flu and even been to a walk in clinic where the dr listened to my symptoms, never ordered blood work and told my mom to give me lots of gatorade to drink. A few days passed and my mom couldn't wake me up that morning and I ended up in a coma for 3 days and woke up to the surprising news that I had type 1 diabetes.
I hope to find a lot of good information here and meet a lot of people who can relate and understand the everyday of what I have to do to keep my blood sugars normal.
I'm glad I found this place!
