Hi gnarlypine! Nice to see you on board! Feel free to read all of the posts, and ask any questions.

You can tell your friend that the most important thing she needs to do is to TAKE CONTROL of her health. The good things is, Type 2 diabetes (the most common form related to obesity) progression can often be halted if the person makes the right lifestyle choices early on and works hard to control their blood sugar.

This means: losing weight, eating a healthy diet, regular blood sugar testing, taking all prescribed medication, and getting regular exercise. Type 2 diabetes will never "go away", but some people with Type 2 diabetes can even go off their medication once they lose the weight and stick to healthy living. This will only work if it is caught early. So information to get people moving on this is key!!!

Remember, the body is a machine! You need to take care of it to make it run properly!

Enjoy the forum!
