Nice to see you here! Tell us more about yourself...I assume you have Type 1 diabetes?

Hope to hear from you soon!

A little more about myself:
I'm not exactly sure what type I am because I'm insulin resistant. I'm currently taking pills and Lantus. My doc wants me to start taking multiple shots daily. I work full-time in an industrial setting, and my concern that it's going to be really hard with my work schedule. So the doc suggested that I go on the pump, which I have alot of questions about cause I don't want to give up my hobbies either. My husband and I ride 4-wheelers during the summer and I'm afraid that I won't be able to do that.

I"ve been following a strict diet and I can't seem to get this under control plus I have a genetic clotting disorder on top of everything else.

I really need some more info on the insulin pump.

Thanks
Melissa

Insulin resistance usually is associated with Type 2 diabetes, but I also would need more info to figure out what type you are, as a Type 1 can also have insulin resistance (that would make you a Type 1 AND a Type 2, lucky you!). However, if you are truly a Type 1, you will have HORRIBLE control without fast-acting insulin and multiple daily injections. You are definitely right in considering the insulin pump. Either way, no matter what type, you need to do the best you can to keep yourself healthy.

I wear a pump (A Cozmo), and it has improved my quality of life so much! It's not a cure and only a tool, but it helps me to have better control and more flexibility. It is the perfect thing if you have a crazy job, especially one in which you can't always be running off to inject yourself.

I am hoping to put more pump info up when I am done exams, for now you might want to search the site for some of my Type 1 info posts. At least 2 of those links will have some pump info.

Feel free to ask any questions. The pump is great! I have yet to meet one person who would ever go back to multiple daily injections!
