Default the new "old" kid in town

Hi everyone. I'm 54 & a type 2 that was dxed last Oct. 7 when I was put in the Hospital for an artery stent. Diabetes was the furthest thing from my mind that day. I never thought in a million years I'd be told something like that . I'm not overweight & had no symptoms. Unfortunately, my Father was a type 2 who died from heart failure at 49 in 1979. I had no idea you could inherit this until I got it. ( Thanks Dad). It's taken a lot of getting used to such a lifestyle change, but I'm hanging in there & seem to have gotten accustomed to eating & living differently.

It's not easy to take care of yourself, but it IS worth it! You unfortunately have seen first hand the damage that diabetes can do. The good news is, you can have a very good chance of a long and healthy life with just a little effort.

Take it one day at a time.

Each new change is a victory step.
