Angry Snacks in movies

I'm 66, single female, love to go to movies BUT how many of you can find things to eat that are o.k. at movies--other than maybe a diet coke or sometimes tea?? I live in Tucson, AZ, where there are several multi-theater complexes. I go at least once a week (after work as elementary school librarian).

When low-carb diets were the THING, I went to movie complex managers and begged for snacks for people like me. Most got in the low-carb/no-carb ice creams--for a while. But now--nothing!! And try to bring in your own foods

We diabetics need to form a national group to interact with movie theater chains and get foods for us put in--nuts, seeds, no-caffeine drinks, sugarfree candy made with Splenda--NOT maltitol/etc which cause bad reactions in so many. Anyone know how to do this or of such a group!!! Would you join?

NOW'S THE TIME!!!

Hello... I think this is a wonderful idea. I also think that it would benefit more people than those with diabetes. Sugarfree candy is better for everyone, as one example. I think it's definitely time for healthier snacks in places like theaters.

AMEN! Some big box movie theatres also contain fast food restaurants inside them, so I can't see why people can't push for a Subway as opposed to to a Burger King. Or at least ADD a Subway. If these places think they'll lose business, they'll change. I would definitely contact the theatre company.

Subway is a good idea, yes. They have a menu that just about everyone could enjoy and it's not like wanting a specialty shop... Subway is found all over.

Default Sugar Alcohol

Speaking of food that doesn't raise the blood sugar too much.. i just posted a "What is sugar alcohol" topic in the nutrition section.. I found some breakfast bars that use this sugar alcohol.. kinda neat if they would use that stuff with candy..

I tend to just put a little ziploc bag of my snacks in my jacket pocket or purse. I mean what they charge for snacks at the theatre is pretty crazy anyway! If I get any hassle (rare since they did away with ushers) I can tell them exactly what I think about their snack selection.
