Okay, I'll be honest. When I was first diagnosed, I checked my blood sugar faithfully every day. There was a medical supply company where I used to live that sent the supplies every couple of months and I never ran out. Then we moved out of state, insurance changed, and I don't know where to get testing supplies without having to pay for them. Can I just get these at Sam's club along with my other prescriptions? Is it something my doctor can prescribe? I know this may sound like a dumb question, but I've never really had to deal with this.

the good news is you can everything except for medication OTC. Over the counter.
Walmart has lancest, strtips, meters, vitamns, swabs etc in the health isles.
You will pay a premium price for them versus going through pRX and having insurancee copay.

You can if you are on a limited income go through each companies patients assitance program. Where some supplies are sent free of charge. You have to meet certain income qualifications with verification.

I always fund that buying my supplies I got coupons for. I know its corney but diabetic supply coupons, offers and discounts form certain national pharmacies can helps save bucks.

I get all my stuff from Wal-mart, but a friend told me the other day that Sam's club carries most of the same stuff that Wal-mart does because they are the same company, so I am going to check and see if they carry the supplies there becasue that would be even cheaper.

ALl companies have a pateint assistance program if you cannot afford he supplies.
Just get a new RX and fill out the application.

Get the address of a few makers of meters and strips. Compose a great letter to them saying that you love their product but you are having a problem affording the strips.

You might be surprised and receive a few strips in the mail. These manufacturers know that people are having a hard time and they might point you in the right direction to get some strips for free or at a reduced price.

I saw an expensive computer program advertised on the Web and I wrote to the manufacturer to tell them that it might be a good idea to donate their product to teaching hospitals to let people who need their product learn about it first hand. They actually sent me a $300 computer program for free!

It will only cost you the price of a stamp and the time to write a good letter. It can't hurt to ask and you might be pleasantly surprised at their answer.

you have to have a current Rx. usually only good for a three or six month supply.

Often theya sk you to disclose your income tax or a copy of the first page of your income tax to show adjusted gross income.

and in some cases a denial letter of medicaid from the local DHS office.
