I am always scared to try new drugs until they have been out for awhile. My mother had some bad reactions to many diabetes drugs, so that makes me a little leary of many of them. I would be curious to hear from people who have tried them though.

Diabeticine, which has recently changed its name to Diamaxol.
FDA looked at Diabeticine’s advertising campaign and declared that it was a drug, not a supplement.
Diamaxol is licensed as a supplement by the FDA. As such, it cannot claim to cure diseases. According to the manufacturer includes Bitter Melon, Licorice extract, Cinnamon herb powder, Yarrow, Cayenne, Juniper Berries, Huckleberry, and Vanadyl Sulfate.
The helpful effects of Diamaxol are as yet unproven. Though the manufacturer claims to have clinical proof, many sceptics dismiss this as marketing. Because the FDA has approved Diamaxol as a supplement, at least we know that it can’t hurt.

As of today the drug has been removed frfom teh FDA database as unproven and is probably going to be pulled or refused any credentialing from the FDA.
Id stay away from it.

I have tried Diamaxol and it does work but for the record, it is not a drug it is a nutritional suplement.

Default which type of diabetes do you have

I am curious as to which type of diabetes you have.?
After reading it it would seem like its more for those who are on diet therapy insteaod of medication...... Now I have to admit I take Chromium picolinate and B vitamins. and they work when I dont have any Actos.....
I went to the FDA website and I found a warning letter........

http://www.fda.gov/foi/warning_letters/g6079d.htm

while I agree with them on the technicalities I think people taking thiswoudl be smart enough to know its more of a supplement than a medical reatment, and in reality how could it hurt unles syour allergic.

Now Zinc does have a toxicity level if you are not deficient.
Chroimium we know in certain doses is agreat thing since most diabetics rea deficient in it, as is B vitamins.
Bitter melon and so on are just herbs that can cause reaction if allergic. I for one am.. so I steer clear of combinations like this... but hey if it helps.. do it....

Default Diamaxol works perfectly for me

I have been using Diamaxol for three months and for me it works perfectly. For the past five years I had been on ever increasing doses of prescribed pills with side-effects. I stopped taking the prescribed medication in January when I started taking Diamaxol. I test my blood sugar level twice every day, and Diamaxol definitely works for me.

Default side effects is why i went to insulin

after my doctors trying me on a variety of oral meds i pushed teh issue to get on insulin. Thankfully though they did an insulin pull to see that i really had no insulin in my system!
talk about wrong meds!
I am thrilled that it helps you. I take chromium and b complex instead of actos which gave me an arrythimia......
