Default Alcoholic Beverages?

My impression is that wine is less of a problem for someone who has diabetes than beer. Is that the same with most cases?

We'll be having someone with diabetes for brunch this weekend, and I'd just like to have a heads up about what would be best.

From personally experience, I have noticed that drinking beer isn't the greatest thing when having diabeties but they have beer out there for diabetics called Stag. I have had better results though with drinking wine than I do with beer.

Thanks for mentioning that brand, willyable. I hadn't heard of Stag beer.

I'll look for it and maybe grab some for the next time my friend comes over.

I don't think any type of alcohol is beneficial for disease of any type except for red wine, and only in limited quantities.

Beer is not healthy for anybody, not to mention diabetics even if it is something like Stag.

In terms of wine, I have actually heard studies that limited red wine, like once a week, helps with the immune system.

I wasn't expecting any alcohol to be specifically beneficial to diabetics, but I was wondering if one was going to indulge, which choice would be less of a problem, if any.

Actually I've heard that some nursing mothers were served a Guinness a day to help keep their strength up. My doctor told me that.
