Diabetes is the third leading cause of death in the United States after heart disease and cancer. Also known as diabetes mellitus,it occurs when there is high concentration of glucose in urine. Insulin, a hormone in pancrease normalizes the sugar level in the body. In a diabetic patient, there is insufficient amount of insulin , a condition called as hyperglycemia.
