Both my grandmothers have it and my mother in law has it. So my children have it on both sides. We are very careful with their sugar intake.

Only my mother has diabetes. I'm not sure what that means for me. I've seen the list of warning signs, but the only one I have is one relative with the disease.

It's seems like everyone in my family has it. My grandmother had it, her husband which is my father's father has it. My cousin has it and a couple of my uncles.

That comment that was made about her father and hes fat.. a little education goes a long way.
being fat doent automatically amke you diabetic.
MAny diabetics get a weight gain when they take certain medications.
Many diabetics are fat, many diabetics ae excessivley thin more often.
remember that weight loss and hanging skin is a sign of runaway diabetes.
Some clinical study that ahs been disproven by other clinical studies but has not been promulagetd make the population think fat is diabetic. Its not.

Its each individuals body on what is happeneing.
Why we get fat being diabetic is another concern. Ite because we are signaling our bodies to eat of energy expendature that doent always happen and most of it is due to water weight gain because we cant flush out teh amount fo liquids that we consume. So we gain water weight.

My dad (just recently diagnosed) and my grandmother and all of my grandmothers sisters have diabetes. No one on my moms side seems to have it.

I have the same thing in my family. My fathers sided both his mothers and fathers sided both have long family hgistory fo diabetes.
While my mothers side is mostly cardia and cancer.
Thank heaven I take more after my fathers side.
The good thing is that most of my family who has diabetes were diagnosed at a fairly young age, and began treatment early. MY father doed of a complicatiuon that the doctor just wouldnt put him on insulin and his oral meds failed.

If that many on one side of your family has it, then chances are goos that you wil dedvelope some form of it later on. Start now with self checks, watch your diet and get into good food habits and you can prevent it from setteling n.
if you notice your thirst or more hungry than usual,, redo your diet .
