This sounds like a good idea, skatts. My favorite hobby is building scale model cars. I've been doing it since 1992 & find it an enjoyable way to relax after a day at work. I also love gardening & can't wait for the weather to warm up so I break the tiller out, start planting & get the veggies growing.
I used to do needlepoint and embroidery. I also did some knitting and painting of holiday models. But lately my hands are getting to be far too painful for me to do anything like that. I have diabetic neuropathy and carpal tunnel syndrome.
I barely can hold a needle because I just can't feel it with my fingers. I tried to knit again, but I can't hold the needles to give it the right tension and my hands hurt right away as I try to knit.
The tiny detailed painting is also impossible because I can't feel the brush to paint correctly.
I also used to play an instrument and I can't do that anymore.
So the only hobby I do is write to forums lately. I might take more time than other people -- you should see my first version of any email LOL they are terrible -- but I take my time and use spell check and manage to post as much as I like.
I do miss my old hobbies. Diabetes has taken a lot from m life. But I guess as we age we learn to adapt to what live throws at us,
But I still miss doing what I used to do. At least I can still read. Thank Heavens!
last week i tried to sew dotees..... and i could not feel the pins. My fingers tingled so bad.
So for me from the neuropathy i upped my B and Chromium and took a bit more R. My BGs were not that bad when i went through it but it did seem to help.
I have noticed it comes in waves........
