Can anyone tell me more about Yogo or tell me where I can find info. My Mom has other health issues and some excercise is out of the question, we need to find her an excercise program that won't hurt her other problems. She has muscle degeneration in both knees.

Your might want to call around and look for a Senior's Aqua-size class. This is basically an aerobic workout done in water, so it's easy on the joints and very suitable for those with degenerative conditions. This way, she can get a cardio workout without joint injury and pain. Make sure she has her doctor's approval before she begins an exercise program. The local YMCA, public pool, Senior's Centre, or Rehab hospital should offer these types of adaptive exercise.

There are also workouts that can be done sitting in a chair. These are mostly used in the case of a person in a wheelchair or severely obese, but anyone with joint issues can do them as well. This approach works well for seniors with limited mobility. You can search the internet for adaptive or wheelchair workouts.

You might also want to see if any seniors services and programs in the area offer low cost or free sessions with a physio or occupational therapist. Most nursing homes offer this type of service. They may have an outpatient program.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I didn't think of that myself, thank you so very much for that reminder. My sister used to do water aerobics and loved it, she'd still be doing it, but her husband decided that younger women and no kids would be more fun, so she had to work and raise her two sons alone and didn't have the time for water aerobics anymore.
