Default sauna or hot tub

Would going into a sauna or hot tub be beneficial to a diabetic especially if they have an open wound? Would it help with the healing process?

Default No No No

in an open wound hot tubs will create a cooked effect more than a healing effect.
It is a cautionary tale of hot tubs and saunas.
Diabetics have go to be careful not to get overly heated or boiled. Especially when a woudn is present, as it causes a new chemical reaction in response to the heat.

In addition under no circumstances should a diabetic use Epsom Salts.

Default Sauna

Never a HOT TUBE!!! It's just like everything else, you never really want to get into the pool with a wound regardless to the chemicals that they pool consist of. To help a wound heal naturally and safely you would be better off sitting in a sauna before you sit in a pool.

Parise, please realize that Suanas create salt escape from skin. Salt enetering any type of wound is a BIG NONO.
So sitting in a sauna is a way to craete salt or acidic damage to skin cells.
Healing naturally for a normal person is very different than attempting to heal a wound in a diabetic.

Saunas/ HOt tubs, Jacizzi, Thermal Spring, Lodge house therapies or even as a recreation are bad for diabetics.

J.

Default I have never

I have never known a sauna to be harmful to a diabetic in any shape or fashion even with a wound. There aren't just one type of sauna. Most diabetics can get an infrared sauna which is not harmful to a diabetic with a cut.
