How much exercise depends on your general health status. With a cardio or pulmonary problem, too much exercise can't be good. When starting out, it is best to exercise with less frequency and intensity, such as walking a mile or two. When you feel okay after that routine, it may be alright to increase the distance or add other routines as aerobics.

Before you start an exercise program you should always consult your doctor. A lot of people don't do this but it's something you should do.

Any diabetic who is thinking of trying to increase greatly his or her level of physical activity should first have a thorough examination by a doctor since hidden cardiovascular weaknesses may be present.

it's always good to chat to your doctor and keep the lines of communication open in all areas of your life - you never know what connects to what!

Default I never thought I would be saying this

My hubby dedsigned a diet that is like so totally awsome.
we eat two carbohydrate choicees per meal and the est is medicum protein and high fiber.
Sound familiar.. Its the south beach diet. I never thought it would work. But his version is like wonderful. he has lost 35 pounds in threemonths!
I have lost 20 since starting.
We both had a starting weight of 240.
I just broke 220. he is hovering at 202-205 and I am just at 219.
My BMI dropped for 40 to 36.
and my inlsuin needs have dropped from 52 units to about 40 units.
Now we dont follow the south beach diet.. but we eat the south beach diet foods. LIke the cinnamon bars, peanut butter bars,, they are snack bars. We swtiched from alot of soda to alot of tea and cut out almost all coffee.
our veggies are in the cabbage family mostly.
I never thought I woudl loose like this, but its amazing.
now reamember that this is my husbands version.

And we do some sort of exercise each day after work, right now its swimming and snorkeling and free diving for me and scuba twice a week for him. and spend all day wednesday every week swimming and doing something.

Default How much

It was once found in a study that three 10 minute exercise breaks during the day gave better results than cramming 30-45 minutes three times a week. The ocnstant use of muscles and target ec\ercises allowed for better glucose utilization.
So now the thinking is this:
every day 3 ten minute exercise stretching sessions or
3-4 times a week combined aerobics ad workouts or
activities daily or 4 times a week for 20 minutes plus after work like, biking, swimming, walking etc.

I follow this ideda.. if it makes you sweat or use muscles you never knew you had your on the right track.
Exercise shoudl not make you hurt, get dizzy, feel wierd or become exhausting.

Default Learn your body

You don't have to have a grueling workout to continue to stay healthy. You need just enough to keep your body happy. And over doing it will not only put a strain on you but make your body unhappy as well.
