Default Fresh Berry Syrup for Pancakes!

Fresh Berry Syrup
Try serving this delicious syrup warm over pancakes, waffles, or French toast

Number of Servings: 8
Serving Size: 2 Tbsp
Ingredients
Name Measure Weight
fresh blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, or raspberries 1 cup ---
unsweetened apple juice 1/2 cup ---
cornstarch or arrowroot powder 1 1/2 tsp ---
sugar 3 Tbsp ---
lemon peel, grated 1/2 tsp ---
lemon juice 1 Tbsp ---
Preparation Instructions
1 Puree the berries with the apple juice. Transfer to a saucepan and add the cornstarch or arrowroot powder. Cook over medium heat until bubbly. Add in the sugar, lemon peel, and lemon juice.

Have you thought about replacing the sugar with Splenda or another artificial sweetner? I will give it a try with a sweetener substitute.
