Default Fingers "Asleep"

I haven't been diagnosed with diabetes, but I have a question about circulation in general. I hope it's alright to post it here.

Is it a circulation problem that causes a loss of feeling or tingling in fingers while sleeping? I often wake up with my two smallest fingers of either hand either tingling or without feeling in them.

My doctor suggested it wasn't a problem.

It might not be a big problem but I would personally get a second opinion on this one. Maybe see a specialist vs a general care doctor.

It may not be a big deal but at the same time you want to at lease try to make sure that it isn't. I use to lose feeling on my toes sometimes and I was told the first go round that it wasn't a big deal when in fact it was.

Have you changed your sleeping position lately? You might just be falling asleep on your hand and cutting off circulation yourself. I did that a while back and didn't figure it out for a while.

I change my positions a lot during the night, including lying on my stomach with my hands under the pillow.

Actually, I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I'll ask again.

Sorry to follow my own post, but I thought I'd update the sleeping fingers case with what my doctor said.

Unfortunately, I don't remember the term for the two smallest fingers falling asleep, but he said it was due to a pinched nerve, probably because of the positioning of my arms.

He also said if had been the index and middle fingers, it would have been carpal tunnel.

I wake up a lot with a numb hand. I think it's just how I was sleeping.

Seriously, it could be just the way you sleep on your arm. Do you sleep on your arm to the point where you might be cutting off circulation?

In my case, I've had fingers go "asleep" basically all my life, but the specific fingers involved here are being affected much more regularly than they were a few years ago.

It does seem to have to do with the position of my arms.

I hope you solve the mystery soon. Do you wear any tight rings?
