some diabetics cant get to below 6 whoich many doctors say is almost impossible to achieve.

MAny at the conference were discussing making 7 the mean first target and then 6.5 for the next goal............. your well on your way in any case!

I was 7.3 at diagnosis of insulin resistance, and am now running at about 5.6 with diet management. I am following off the back of gestational diabetes, so am used to the diet now.

Thanks, I am trying to I really am! The longer I can cope with just diet and exercise, the happier I will be. Now I would like to lose a little more weight and I would really be a chuffed bunny

The key is to stick with it and don't expect instant gratification! It takes time to see results, so just focus on how much better you feel and the *progress* you have made, not just the end result where you stand today. Focus on a long-term goal to keep you motivated, like staying healthy so you can one day play with your grandkids. If you look at healthy eating for example as a healthy lifestyle and not a "diet", it will make it much easier to stick with for LIFE. It will allow you to raise your kids in a healthy environment too! It's a day-to-day lifestyle with long-term goals.

I know that if you stick with it, you WILL have success!

Good job thus far, and know that the hard work WILL pay off.

It won't be easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is! You will be proud to look back at what you accomplished.

No matter what happens, you will always be healthier and better off than if you *didn't* take good care of yourself!
