My hubby quit before his surgery. Thankfully we had a doctor that helped him through it. He used the patch and she provided an exceptionally low dose anti anxiety med. Then he switchd to an OTC called Calms Forte.
He also at a lot of oranges.
It took him a few weeks to get accustomed to not ahving a cig after a good meal, so I started cooking crappy.......
really it was easier with the calms forte and oranges.
You also ahve to consider teh second hand smoke. I have more damage from my parents and family smoking than they do.................
