I am new to watching my glucose levels, and I see my glucose is about 120 in the morning although I haven't eaten for 10 - 12 hours? My glucose level is about 85 in the afternoon, about 4 hours after eating lunch. Why is that?
fasting levels should be between 70 and 110. 120 is still considerednormal.
For a number fo reasons.
Your numbers are 120 after not eating for hours because of glycogen loading. When the body does not get food, teyh liver excretes glycogen to compansate and keep the works going.
hen yur body has teh right combinatiosn of proteins fats and carbohyadrtes it works effectively with teh insulin that your body produces.
To get abetter idea of what your post prandial or after meal levels are, dont go the four hours, thats when tehbody begins to peter out and you are hitting alow point. But instead do it 2 hours after eating to see how high you are.
I woudl say by teh numbers you are telling me you are either on the perfect deit and medication routine or are not truly diabetic, or are getting ahold because of familial tendencies. All fo whgich aer awsome reasons to keep track! |
