Default When A1Cs wont go down

When A1C levels wont go down to at least a 7. then one has to get more agressive., if you are a diet only control situation then a review of teh diet and seeing what is in your food diary has to be gone over. usually theintroduction of an oralmedication. If you are on oral meds then an elevated A1C means that your medications ahve stopped owrking. IN any case elevated A1C means that glucoselevels are still sufocating cells and causing damage. Your doctor shoud become more agressive in his treatment and you shoudl become twice as agressive in carb counting and other supportive measures. "Check more often, keep alog book of before meal glucose, foods and the post meal post prandial glucsoe reading to see of it could be the foods are triggering highs. See if the meds, if you are ony are actually working
elevations are ususally the first sign that meds are either needed oreed to be switched.
